Dunheved Golf Club LOCAL RULES

  • Please read in conjunction with the RULES OF GOLF and the Local Rules Board

Out of Bounds applies on holes 1 & 10 and to paths surrounding the Clubhouse. 1st hole – defined by the power poles painted white on the left side of the fairway. 10th hole- defined by the pipe boundary to the right of the fairway. Clubhouse Paths- shown by painted broken white line. Relief allowed under rule 18.1 and 18.2.

Exposed Tree Roots on closely mown areas are considered an abnormal course condition and relief is allowed under rule 16.1b.

Posts and Ropes are immovable obstructions and relief is allowed under rule 16.1a.

Distance Markers which are plants situated at 150m & 200m from the green are immovable obstructions and relief is allowed under rule 16.1a.

Metal Hoops & Directional Signs can be moved by must be replaced after playing a shot.

Ornamental Gardens are defined by a single white post and relief is allowed under rule 16.1a.

Paths and Roads both artificially surfaced & natural are used by motorised vehicles. Relief can be taken from these paths & roads and associated worn areas under rule 16.1a. All defined wheel tracks & ruts are to be treated as GUR.

Sprinkler Heads are located on closely mown areas and relief is allowed under rule 16.1b. Additional relief is allowed from sprinklers within 2 club lengths of the putting green. If a ball lies within 2 club lengths of a sprinkler then a player may take a drop within 1 club length of the nearest point of relief.

Power Lines or Poles struck by a ball in the general area of play. The stroke is to be cancelled and must be replayed.

New Turf is considered an abnormal course condition under rule 16.1a and relief is compulsory.

Paths Crossing Creeks are part of the penalty area.

Penalty Areas are defined by yellow or red posts and or lines. Posts are immovable obstructions.

Abnormal Course Conditions are marked by white lines and relief is allowed under rule 16.1a. A fallen tree limb that is too large for a player to move and physically interferes with the player’s area of intended stance or area of intended swing is to be treated as an abnormal course condition.

Areas Covered by Woodchips/Mulch and not defined with a white stake are to be treated as an integral part of the course.

RECOMMENDATIONS FROM THE BOARD

 Please always carry and use a sand bucket and repair divots and pitch marks.

 Motorised vehicles must stay outside of the blue lines and ropes and be no closer than 10m to the green at all times.

 Enter and exit the bunkers from the lowest point for easier access.

 Speed of Play - please ensure your position in the field is directly behind the group in front of you.

 Avoid walking on the fringe/apron between the bunkers and the greens. This is to reduce the wear and tear to the fringe/apron.

 Pull Buggies are not to be taken across greens. Please also avoid fringes and aprons.

RISK WARNING, LIGHTNING

Any time there is lightning activity there is a significant risk of being struck by lightning on a golf course. It is your responsibility to check weather forecasts and ensure your own safety with regard to lightning before you use the golf course. It is a condition of entry to this course that you acknowledge that you do so at your own risk and that you are not relying on us to ensure your safety from lightning.
